Correa glabra var. glabra 'Inglewood Gold'

ORIGIN: Correa 'Inglewood Gold' was selected from a wild population of Correa glabra var. glabra and grown in cultivation by Mr B Edwards. It was found in the Inglewood district in Victoria ca. 1980 and the name refers to the collection location and the bronze hairs on the corolla. The cultivar was first received by the Authority in July 1988. Registration applied for by Mr B Grose for the Victorian Region of the Society for Growing Australian Plants.

DESCRIPTION: This cultivar grows to 1m tall by 1m wide. The flower colour is gold and the flowering season is from December to April. The flowers are 30mm long by 7mm wide.

DIAGNOSIS: The distinguishing feature of this cultivar is the gold colour of the flowers.

CULTIVATION NOTES: This cultivar is moderately drought hardy and is frost hardy. Flowering may occur throughout the year with the main flowering from December to April. No major problems with pest or disease have been noted. The cultivar responds well to tip pruning. Vegetative propagation must be used to preserve the cultivar form.
