ORIGIN: Telopea 'Corroboree' was selected in 1974 by Nanette Cuming from seedlings of Telopea speciosissima purchased from Breakoday Nursery of Box Hill, Victoria. The name reflects the extended styles which resemble a circle of dancing figures. Cultivar first received by the Authority in October 1989. Registration applied for by Ms N Cuming of Brittern, Victoria.
DESCRIPTION: This cultivar reaches an annual height of 1.5m. Its mature height is unknown as it is pruned regularly for cut flowers. The shrubs are maintained at a width of 1.5m.
DIAGNOSIS: This cultivar has very compact inflorescences measuring ca. 120mm high by 120mm wide. It is a form that has been selected because of the marketable qualities of its flowers.
CULTIVATION NOTES: This cultivar is a very vigorous grower. It responds well to applications of Nutricote slow release fertilizer and annual pruning. 116 plants at 2 years old produced 2000 flowers. The flowers are currently marketed in Victoria and Japan.
