Steetz, Joachim (1804 - 1862)

Born on 12 November 1804 in Hamburg, Germany; died on 24 March 1862 in Germany.

The herbarium of the Hamburg botanist Joachim Steetz was purchased by the National Herbarium of Victoria in 1863 for the sum of £80 sterling.

Over 160 collectors contributed specimens from more than 30 countries to Steetz's herbarium.
