Born in 1949 in Melbourne, Victoria;

Career:

Self employed plant nurseryman.

1991-2012 botanist at Queensland Herbarium BRI - mostly survey and mapping.

2012- Honorary Associate at BRI.

Collecting:

Most of his collecting was carried out as part of his duties as a government botanist at BRI working on Regional Ecosystem mapping in Queensland.

His main mapping areas were the Desert Uplands (central Qld) and the Gulf Plains (NW Qld).

He began work in the Desert Uplands in 1991. Some of the highlights included the rediscovery of Kunzea calida and the discovery of new species, such as Eryngium fontantum, and new grasses such as Calyptochloa cylindrosperma and the new genus, Cryptachne.
