A family of about 7 genera and 195 species, moslly SE Asia but also in Central and South America; one genus is introduced in Australia.
Camellia - A genus of 40 species in Asia, as far north as Korea and Japan, and Malesia, several species are cultivated in Australia and one has become naturalised. Melchior (1925).
