Pseudobulb internode

The presence of nodes on a pseudobulb is indicated by lines where bracts are attached. These lines on the surface are generally at an angle across the axis of the pseudobulb and become more obvious on older pseudobulbs where the bracts begin to break down.

Single: the pseudobulb consists of a single node with a single basal bract. There are no obvious lines across the  pseudobulb.

Multiple: the pseudobulb consists of several nodes with a bract on each node. There are usually obvious lines across the  pseudobulb where each bract is attached.
