This is one of two Australian native plants in a series of 'Ferdinand
von Mueller 1825-1896' stamps.

Plant: Gentianella muelleriana

Family: GENTIANACEAE

Common-name: Mueller's Snow Gentian

Loosely clumping dwarf annual or perennial herb, white or cream flowers
with with blue or purple longitudinal lines radiating from its centre. It grows in alpine or subalpine areas of NSW, ACT, Vic.

The backgtound shows the current National Herbarium of Victoria, with the 1989
extension to the 1934 building, and a garden map.
